I Think We Found It

I think we actually may have found a place to call home. We found a really nice subdivision north of town a bit with all brand new houses. Because the housing market has slowed down a bit, the prices were all reduced and a lot of upgrades that were normally extra (granite counter tops, island in the kitchen, hard wood floor in the kitchen and entryway, plus some other stuff) were now standard. We went through with our agent today, and he didn't find any issues with anything so we plan on signing a contract on it tomorrow. Another nice thing is that we only have to put down $100. Normally it would be like 3% of the asking price, but since the housing market isn't as hot as it usually is, a lot of builders are having trouble moving inventory and are throwing around a lot of bargains. What a nice time to move down here, huh? The house is almost complete, but they stopped at the point where we can customize the inside (cabinets, carpet, tile, other stuff) which is really nice. Because it is almost completed but not quite . . . we don't even have to close on it until at least 60 days. We are planning on closing at the end of March, which will allow us to stay at Lynne and Steve's place long enough to save some money and get used to the area, but still have a plan on where we are going to go. I am really excited and this is just another example of how lucky we are that everything has gone so smoothly. Here is a picture of the outside of the house.
